The American Society of Baking (ASB) announced Kristen Spriggs will be taking on the role of Executive Director. With over 20 years of experience in membership-based organizations, she has a proven track record of creating and supporting communities.
Recently, Spriggs served as the Chief Member Services Officer for the American Society for Quality (ASQ), where she provided executive leadership for its 60,000+ global membership, 230+ chapters/components, and various initiatives. Her experience in board and committee governance, event management, and leading teams and organizations through change made her the ideal candidate to lead ASB into a new era, according to Brittny Ohr, ASB Board Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Search Committee.
“We are really excited as her passion for innovation and collaborative approach comes at the right time in ASB’s history, with the succession of Kent Van Amburg, who brought stability and focus to ASB when he joined the organization in 2010,” said Ohr.
Spriggs, a native Midwesterner, is eager to enhance the services that ASB provides to the industry. She has already started building relationships with industry partners, feeling the strong bond among peers that connect individuals in the industry. With a passion for innovation and a collaborative approach, she is looking forward to working with other trade organizations and service partners to advance the industry’s success.
ASB will pass the torch to Spriggs at the conclusion of the 99th annual BakingTECH, February 28 to March 2, in Chicago. A major conference for the baking industry, BakingTECH brings together experts, industry leaders, and professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advancements, innovations, and challenges facing the industry. The event, organized by ASB, allows attendees to network with their peers, learn about new products and technologies, and gain insights from industry leaders and experts. Since 1933 ASB has provided educational and networking opportunities for the baking industry, as well as promoting research and innovation.
