A week into a loaf a day, and problems arising already? Dr. Lin Carson tells Dave Dahl that 6 days into her challenge she began experiencing some pain that sounded a lot like gluten inflammation.
The culprit? Sodium. You may not know it, but bread has a lot of sodium. Just ask Lin and Dave what happens when you don’t add salt to bread! But this brings up an interesting point of an all-bread diet: What does it mean for your levels and daily nutrients?
Dr. Carson goes into the reaction she got from her doctor when sharing her diet, the advice on exercise she’s received, her openness on eating cake, and then invites dietician and nutritionist Connie Evers to reveal her health score card after starting Eat Bread 90.
It’s the good, the bad and the unexpected—launching a discussion on the complete protein found in some breads, how to balance sodium, potassium and calcium intake, exercise and how many calories we should all be eating a day. You’ll find a bread diet just needs a few things like any other diet: balance, exercise and water!
